LiveExperimental projectNexus Lab entry
NexusAmp
A terminal-style internet radio player, live on this site.
A Winamp-inspired radio player that runs right here in the browser: thirteen live stations — Guam's own airwaves first, then lofi, EDM, jazz, and synthwave — with a real ten-band equalizer and a live spectrum visualizer built on the Web Audio API. Streams play directly from each broadcaster; nothing is proxied, recorded, or tracked.
The problem
Every lab needs at least one thing that exists purely because it was fun to build.
The system
A love letter to the Winamp era, rebuilt with the modern browser's actual audio pipeline — and pointed at Guam's own airwaves first.
What it covers
- Thirteen live stations, Guam first: 104.3 Boss FM and The Point KUSG, then lofi, EDM, jazz, and the Nightride and Radio Paradise families
- Real ten-band equalizer — Web Audio biquad filters, not a cosmetic graphic
- Live spectrum visualizer drawn in terminal block characters
- Full keyboard control: arrows tune, space plays, M mutes, E cycles the EQ
- No accounts, no tracking — audio streams directly from each broadcaster
